Ignorance is bliss

Before reading this, Please read

http://ibnlive.in.com/blogs/sagarikaghose/223/52813/trouble-at-om.html

Hello Sagarika,

Thank you for giving food for my thoughts. I was never so troubled reading your blogs after reading ‘Troubled OM’. Being a journalist and associated with IBN/CNN, I can understand your qualification for writing and speaking your mind and zeal to be listened across the globe. However the ‘Trouble OM” article lacks to emphasize the core issue and it fails to deliver your arguments in the right perspective.

Being read much of your work, I also try to understand your thought process and my observations are following,

1. You lack the very fundamental concept of religion and life. When you comment like Hindu religion under threat of fundamentalist after repeated attacks on churches and bomb blasts, seems to me that you don’t read history well. Since beginning, these kinds of outfits and passionate people exist in the society. In 60’ we have Bal Thakare, in 20’ we have Bal Gangadhar Tilak and most successful personality of 17 century was Shivaji. Hindu religion was always remained in threat because of extremists within. And which is obvious that in 1 billion people, we have many peace loving and tolerant people and equally intolerant also. This
has nothing to do with religion. Any ways India as country only remain tolerant to its tyrants. It was never so tolerant to weaker strata of its own society or any other religion which was not capable of defending it self. Buddhism could’t flourish in India. Jainism has only 1-2% followings even after dating the date since beginning of history of this country. And when you talk about society, which never exists anywhere, I could not believe your passion to give sermons without
knowing that there is no one at receiving end. We were united only few times in history, such as before independence (Less then 5 million participated in Independence struggle), ‘62, ’65, ’71, ’99 and few dates on which cricket matches flood our veins with national ethos.

2. Religion in this country is so personal that you will find almost per person thousands of way to follow. Your comment on Sadhus, which says that frustrated people take sanyas in this country, shows your deep apathy towards the poorest rich-culture of India. Gandhi took sanyas, and constantly fought the enemy within till his death. As I say and repeat, there is no enemy except within. I can take you from Adi Shankaracharya to Vivekanad and many more lately, who are still constant source of light for generations to come. And yes they would be few, because one Buddha, one Mahavir and one Krishna are enough to create this much passion and chaos. Simplest relationship can be established between your professionals and Sadhus. Many of your “Jhola chhap” (no offence to any Journalist) and “air conditioned” colleagues are struggling and getting frustrated because of constant struggle with enemy within. And these frustrated journalists are constant threat to so called Indian society more than fundamentalist of any
religion. Do you know, one of the reasons of banning exit polls by Indian establishment is the nexus between, political parties and journalists. These parties conduct exit polls after paying to your colleagues across the board. Every one knows it, even Prof Yogendra Yadav and Mr. Rajdeep Sardesai can’t deny.

3. I believe that you are a very political person, because you are always against politicians and always ready to comment on negativity. It is better if you can shape your thoughts in more neutral ways. Constant bashing of unabashed politicians of our country is creating a big problem, which all your professional family members do not understand. Politics also requires young and fresh blood, like Barak Obama. Manipulated father produces corrupt sons. All these days
because of your constant bashing on politics and politicians, only people join politics are the sons and relatives of your opposition (please read politicians). The youth and the more commoner, the critical for the success and development of our country, constantly feel that politics is not a place to go. People do not come to vote. Your channels are constantly propagating negative aspects of politics.

4. I can establish another relationship with you and so-called fundamentalist, pro or against secularism and communist. Your business flourish on the comments, actions and thought of these people. Mr. Advani and his ideologues will keep defending their positions, with same or new theories, words and new books. You will keep attacking them with counter arguments and theories and try to prove them wrong. And help them in selling their theories and books. Manmohan and Sonia’s secularism catches unnecessary news every time they speak M word. You will keep speaking and writing without much of the analysis and thoughts. Because you need to take a position and it should be taken very quickly otherwise your potential rivals would grab eyeballs on other channels and websites. So the business keep flourish on both sides, politicians get publicity and you will also get publicity by opposing them. This business is same as God and Devil’ business. Both exist together. So you and your professional family, the so called fourth
pillar of democracy think that you are protecting democracy and civil rights and you will keep adding theories to prove the point, which at first place neither exists nor required for the country. On top of that, journalists like you behave like saint and giving directions to the so called invisible society to make and form opinions, on the issues, which can be dealt more effectively by simply ignoring.

I hope, some day we will talk about commoners. The history is completely filled up with Tyrants, aggressors and people who looted innocent people. I chose not to be part of this and I welcome you on my walk of life. Believe me “Ignorance is bliss”

PS: I can ignore your thoughts but it is difficult to ignore the perspective you bring in.

While going through the blog and for last couple of days the thing which was going through my mind is we all say its an intelligence failure. Reason is probably because we just want to throw the reason to someone else not us. I don't have a solution but then administration should take some some drastic strong step which keeps us little bit indenpendent of the IB in some way.

Unless India responds purposefully, forcefully
and successfully to the war that has been imposed
on it—and that war began long before the last
week of November 2008—the grand project of improving
the lives, well-being and happiness of
over a billion Indians, and many more besides,
will be seriously jeopardised. For that reason India
must not only seek to deliver exemplary punishment
on the terrorist organisations and their sponsors, but also make it prohibitively expensive
for anyone to use terrorism as a political
strategy.

As a persone who have lived in muslim majority area ( aligarh muslim university) who has worked at express towers, nariman point, frequented leopold cafe etc. i think i not only have the anger, frustration but full authority to comment on the situation realistically.....

The first thing that the pseudo secular indian media portrayed as soon as the attack started was... TERRORISM HAS NO RELIGION... now to a person who has witnessed violent celbrations on 9/11 attacks at AMU the above statement by media is a CRIME and should be non-bailable.
Yes terrorism has a religion and the world knows it. I am not sure what went through ghelots mind when he started writing against indian corruption for centuries and its in our blood or something.... But to me the route cause is the malicious, 6th century, barbaric quranic teachings around the world that are the route cause of all this. No civilized society corrupt or not corrupt has been spared by these mindless people. be it UK, US, Spain, Russia and even China (ya its true).. I have much more things to add but would come in subsequent posts.. they will be direct and without any political correctness. meanwhile read the comments below & please dont delete them if you cannot refute them with facts...

Here is somethig that one of my dear friends from Europe had to say about why they absolutely hate ISLAM. I am sorry to revive the discussion but this is so true about Islam and adds to my point India being more progressive, stable and Saner without muslims..

The situation of Islam is pathetic everywhere since it exists. That's inherent in that stupid "religion".

Anyone who starts believing what is written in the Quran basically has to check in his brain and give up rational thinking. From that point on, he becomes inhumane and irrational, unable to deal with reality other than through violence.

Muslims are 100% dependent on everyone else to provide them with the benefits of civilized living.

Mohammad was a trader. Like all traders, he was able to earn an income by conveying goods from producers to consumers. But in fact he scorned all producers, starting with peasants. Needless to say, a trader without producers is like a fish on dry land. Dead.

To this day Muslims have contributed NOTHING of value to humanity. No science, no innovations, no cool products. Most other cultures have moved ahead. Europeans and Americans developed modern science and technology, the Japanese refined those technologies and mass-produced them, the Koreans and the Chinese made them cheaper, the Indians provide services. Now all of them are contributing to the progress.

But Muslims? They sell oil. And they run a little trade on the side. Apart from that, they only thing they can do is protest, burn flags and spread terrorism.

The 300 million Arabs in Northern Africa and the Middle East have a GDP (excluding petrol) that is no larger than the turnover at Nokia. One single Swedish corporation produces more than 300 million Muslims. Says everything, doesn't it?

Islam turns people into dumb, aggressive robots

To Rohit Saxena,

While saying something at least say it with responsibility and your knowledge for what you are saying so blatantly...

Indicating "Muslims have contributed NOTHING of value to humanity. No science, no innovations............." you forgot the Wings of Fire, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Azaad, Dr. Jakir Hussain, Famous Poet Ghalib.. I am sure you must be listening him still after so many years of his demise in addition to classical music and spic macay.. Irfan Pathan, Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan and lot many who did us feel proud with their contribution towards various fields. Is that enough for you to understand that religion had nothing to do with their commitments and they never demanded from you not to feel proud on their contributions just because they are from other religion.

I think Taj Mahal shouldn't be one of the Modern World's Seven Wonders as it is built by a Moghul, Islamic Ruler. what if it is in India?? It shouldn't be !!!

After all we are Hindus and not Muslims to be proud of it, we can always say that it was Tejo Mahalaya to save face but you never cud feel proud of that this is also a fact.

Islam turns people into dumb aggressive robots, and you proved it right by your stand that it can even turn a sane man into a fanatic robot.

Guys instead of fighting about religion it's better we think about one india "a force to reckon".good point aarti about SRK , Irfan and other's.The point most of the people in india is looking for us is Why is Islam institutions , Masjids not working closlely with young indian religious muslim youth to propogate peace and harmony. We hardly get to see them coming out in public and give a complete objection to these anti india anti human activities. These instituations should create awareness and spread the message of being secular. They should be thankful they are in a country like india.Friends ..everyone should remember that when we point its only about specisfic fanatics and not the whole muslim community.

Aarti Bhardwaj said...

Yeah Kalyan.

That is the only point I wanted to make that instead of branding a religion in particular we should take some responsibility. All religions are equally sacred and their sanctity must be retained. We need to stand up as Community leaving aside everything else to grow.. After all its our wish to grow..

These institutions are run by people not materials.. harmony should be developed at personal level everywhere that is the only way out to detoxify the environment, and if we ourselves will add bitterness to it we cant blame it to anything that it doesn't tastes sweet.
